Give it to God!

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
    and he will establish your plans.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:

In my last post I talked about my health struggles. This has made me feel unproductive at times. I found I was feeling exhausted by the end of the day, but yet I felt like there was so much more I should have done. Again, I was finding myself at the symbolic watering hole…being the negative Nelly who nobody wanted to talk to. God softly reminded me that I just needed to continue to walk with Him and He would be glorified.

So….I found the two above verses that talk about committing yourself to the Lord. He is in the midst of all our plans. Even though I know this in my head…I started waking up each morning and thinking of these verses. I pictured myself literally handing over a sheet of paper that were my plans for that day. God opens and scans it and smiles. Yes, this visualization technique really helps me.

At the end of the day I would then think back about my day and instead of fretting over what I did do or what I didn’t do…I counted my blessings for that day. It is an extraordinary way to keep your mind focused on God and glorifying Him. It is not about glorifying me….God will be magnified through my faithfulness.

I challenge you to find verses that may help you when you are feeling like you are not keeping up with life. Take a few quiet moments in the morning and the evening to give your thoughts, hopes, feelings, fears, plans or whatever else you may have…to  the Lord. Then, at the end of the day, rest in His grace and count the abundant blessings that have showered your day.

It is my prayer that you stop worrying about the standards of this world, but instead take some time to commit your plans to the Lord and then thank Him for His overwhelming blessings.
