Psalm 150
Praise the Lord.[
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
The past three weeks have passed in a whirlwind. Between getting test results that indicate I may have cancer and dealing with stomach issues….I have prayed over and over to God for help. I feel God’s presence and it is beyond comforting.
This morning I realized, I seem to be just crying out to God in distress. I know He understands my heart. I also know that Praising the Lord fills me with abundant joy and peace.
Psalm 150 teaches us to Praise God no matter where He is. I want to challenge you to praise God no matter where you are. Just the act of switching our thoughts and emotions to a more celebratory slant helps to focus our minds on more positive things. Plus, and more importantly, God deserves and wants our praise no matter where He is or no matter where we may be.
Laura Story wrote and sings a song called “blessings”. This song is a testimony to her walk with Jesus and the struggles that her and her husband withstand. There is a line in the chorus that goes: “What if your blessings come through raindrops. What if your healing comes through tears”. These words remind me to praise God even when I am full of tears and frustration. God will be magnified in my sufferings!
Now, I admit at times, it seems so difficult to switch the pleading to praising, but it is a powerful resource at your fingertips. Clear your mind….Lift your heart to our mighty savior and give him all the praise and Glory that is His. You will be truly blessed as well.
It is my prayer that you take time throughout your busy day and praise the Lord! Our disabilities certainly do not get in the way of Praising our King!
