Psalm 139:14
praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Recently I read an outstanding article that comes from the heart of a mom with a child of autism. Whether you are a person with a disability; A parent or another relative of someone with a disability; Or perhaps you are a person wanting to understand disabilities a little better…I highly recommend this article.
Now take some quality time with the Lord and figure out how you view normal. Are you one of the people who sit in church and judge this mom? Have you felt the sting of judgement because church attendees thought you had a unrepented sin in your life that caused a disability? Are you a sibling of someone who seems to need extra attention all the time? NO matter who you are, You are fearfully and wonderfully made! God loves you.
If you have been quick to judge a person with disabilities…learn from your actions and ask God to forgive you. He will, because you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Are you a person with a disability who is discouraged about life with a disability? NO matter who you are….God is there to listen and love you. The mom in this article set an incredible example for all of us….At the end she reassures her son by saying she would continue to choose him as her son today, tomorrow and forever! That is the love that God offers to each of us!
It is my prayer that you know this boundless love. You may have issues that need attention, but your heavenly father will continue to love and affirm you today, tomorrow and forever!
