Seek the Son Ministries Inc. was founded in 2005. Ken & Rev. Dr. Theresa Taylor founded Seek the Son Ministries to bring the saving power of Jesus Christ to people affected by disabilities.
Ken & Theresa are a couple with a strong passion to reach individuals affected by disabilities with the love of Jesus Christ. Both live with a disability, but ultimately they know they want to glorify God with their abilities.
Ken & Theresa were discouraged at the discrimination, with respect to disability, taking place in the church. They want to reconcile the divide between the two communities.
Ken graduated from the Minnesota School of Business with an accounting degree. He keeps his knowledge current through classes at Surgent Income tax school. He also has work experience in the field of payroll, bookkeeping and individual tax preperation. Ken loves teaching and empowering others to share their gifts. He is quick to lend a helping hand. Ken has an amazing ability to look beyond human imperfections and instead focus on the God given gifts. Ken is legally blind with immature retinas due to albinism. Ken remarks that he has a foot in both the sighted and blind worlds. It is not always easy to live with not enough functional vision, but with too much vision to be thought of as blind.
Theresa loves to learn. She has several degrees including her Masters of Divinity in Children and family ministry along with her doctorate of Ministry in pastoral care. She is an ordained pastor through International Ministerial Fellowship. She is an author of “Enabling the Disabled in the body of Christ” in which she shares her research on the need for reconciliation in the church in respect to those affected by disabilities. Theresa, with her role as a pastor affected by disabilities, can speak of her experiences and encourage both the church and people affected by disabilities to focus on Christ and bringing glory to god. Theresa is totally blind and profoundly deaf. She uses hearing aids and remains very oral.
Ken and Theresa have shared their gifts through conferences, retreats and one on one experiences. Their latest venture involves exploring God’s truth in nature. They plan on sharing a series of videocasts on various outdoor activities and how people affected by disabilities can also enjoy these adventures. They will also incorporate the endless ways we can discover God’s love and goodness in nature. Ken and Theresa enjoy hiking and backcountry camping. They hope to take some longer treks on various trails around the United States and will also be journaling these experiences.
Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Hebrews 12:1-3
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
